So here is his very own edible red iPod touch.
The cake is chocolate with vanilla bc, fondant finish and gumpaste accents.

Happy Birthday Kaden!

Canucks Themed Bday Cake!

A fun birthday cake that incorporates a special husbands love for the Canucks, motorcycles, and his upcoming Ride to Conquer Cancer event, which he has already raised a bunch of money for!
Completed with a mini Stanley Cup candle holder- its just to be bad we couldn't have the real thing this year!!!
The cake is chocolate with choc bc, and covered in homemade MMF.
Accents are gumpaste and fondant.

Happy Birthday Jean!

Sleeping Baby Shower Cake

Here is a cake done up for a baby shower, the client sent me pics of a previous shower she attended that had cupcakes done up with little babys on top under blankets- and challenged me to make it in the giant form! So here was my take- by the time I was finished I had quite the crush on this little guy (or girl), and was sad to see it go!

Happy Baby Shower Nicole!

The cake is vanilla with vanilla buttercream, and homemade MMF. The baby is rice krispies decorated with fondant and gumpaste.

Rice Krispie Pizza Cake

A rice krispie 'pizza' cake for my sister's boyfriend - who happens to be lactose intolerant, and frequently misses out on dessert at the family dinner.
My sister Megan did most of this cake herself, and her first crack at working with fondant- pretty darn good!
I think she especially enjoyed adding the extra 'cheese' for him!
Good work Megz!!!

Gluten Free Birthday Cake

Here is a travel inspired birthday cake done up for my dear mother!
The cake is lemon gluten free cake with vanilla italian meringue buttercream and chocolate ganache, finished with homemade MMF.
The cake is travel inspired as they will be heading off to conquer Florence & Venice this year, and have seen Rome, Cuba, and Paris in their most recent travels.

The little character (while more voluptuous then planned) represents my mother with her pixie hair cut and signature freckles.

Happy Birthday Mom & Happy Travels!

Tea Party Petit Fours

Ordered by a dear friend of mine for a bridal shower with a tea party theme.
The cakes are vanilla with vanilla bc, vanilla with jam, choc with choc bc, and lemon with lemon bc.
Finished with pourable fondant and gumpaste decorations.

Sushi Buffet

Bite sized desserts disguised as sushi! These little desserts were special ordered for a client that believes we should 'Taste the Rainbow', with a theme of expect the unexpected.
While I can't say I've had to make sushi cakes or even sushi before, I accepted the challenge, and really can't wait to make them again!

Here they are- a combo of 'rolls' and 'nigiri'.

The sushi rolls are actually one bite cakes- chocolate and vanilla with buttercream filling.
Decorated with fondant, gumpaste, and coconut.

These are the nigiri- made with rice krispie squares, fondant and gumpaste.
